CEO / CHAIR

Celi Celita Garcia

I have made this my life mission to help women who have been in my shoes change their lives and benefit society. I am loud and proud in recovery and a voice for the voiceless.

Vice Chair

Nora Kelly Kondo

My name is Nora Kelly Kondo.  I am a retired teacher, who taught for 25 years.  My expertise was in English, English as a second language, and college prep.
I’ve been in recovery since February 25, 1986, and have been an active member of 12 step recovery ever since.
I’ve done much service over the years, mostly in Public Relations.  Lately my focus has been working with the formerly incarcerated community.
I am also a wife, mother of two adults and grandmother of one!

Thank you, Nora K

I am writing you this statement regarding why I would love to work with you on the board of directors. I love what you’re doing for these women that just get out of prison; trying to make a new start at life and helping them. Guiding them in making better choices and giving them a fresh start  on parole, even just a small part. I would love to be a part of that I think it’s amazing what you do! I would just like to say thank you and hopefully you give me a chance and allow me be a part of this amazing organization.

Art Margolis

I’m Art Margolis.  My business background is in the automotive industry, focusing on customer service.  I owned my own company for many years, and managed a large luxury vehicle dealership. After many years of active addiction, I got clean February 3, 2003.  I have been an active member of Narcotics Anonymous since that time, and have been involved in service since my very first meeting. My passion is carrying the message of NA to the still suffering Addict. I bring NA meetings into Prisons, Jails and Youth Facilities in both Northern and Southern California.  Since Covid, some of my service commitments have become virtual.  I have been actively working with the formerly incarcerated population. In my free time I enjoy being with my family, traveling, music and cars.

Thank you, Art

Being part of the board means the world to me, to be part of the vision to help many lives.     As I discovered my passion of being of service to help one life at a time. This organization lines up with my passion.

I am dedicated and committed!!

I have many years experience inside the walls and outside the walls to make a significant contribution to help the success of the mission of Step Out Step Up.

Also stepping into the board is a means of gaining new knowledge and sharing diverse viewpoints.

I am very excited about this incredible opportunity.

Renee Arellano Lead Harm Reduction Navigator

I joined the board/community; because I want to give back to women that deserve to have a second chance in life.  I also have a son who's in the system and I want to be able to have resources for him when he is released. To be able to provide jobs, skills, education, life changing solutions.
Thank you, Renee A
